Keywords:wirewound inductor? inductor? vishay intertechnology? isc-1008?

A new surface-mount, wirewound inductor with shielding from Vishay Intertechnology Inc. offers a wide inductance value range and enables easy surface-mounting in close proximity to other components on the assembly board. It's also 100 percent Pb-free and RoHS compliant.

The new ISC-1008 inductor offers a wide range of inductance values (at 100KHz) from 1?H to 1,000?H with a standard tolerance of 20 percent. Current ratings range from 1,000mA to 30mA.

Packaged in a 3.6-by-3.6-by-2.5mm footprint, the ISC-1008 inductor, which features a ferrite construction with a magnetic shield, is rated for an operating temperature range of -40C to 85C. It is suitable for reflow soldering and is provided in tape-and-reel packaging for automatic handling.

The new ISC-1008 from Vishay Dale is designed primarily for medium- to low-frequency resonant circuits for higher-current applications in notebook computers, PCs, flash memory devices, converters, and other electronic systems. In addition to shielding that enables the manufacture of more compact end products, the new inductor is said to feature excellent solderability and resistance to soldering heat as well as high reliability. As a result, designers can integrate greater functionality on available board space without compromising the overall performance and reliability of the end product, said the company.

Pricing is 17 cents each in quantities of 5,000. Samples and production quantities of the new ISC-1008 wirewound, shielded inductor are available now, with a lead time of eight weeks for larger orders.
