New pushbutton switches from NKK SwitchesNKK Switches has launched a new series of logic level, PC-mounted pushbutton switches. These new switches offer a myriad of pushbutton types and terminations for any number of configurations.

The new pushbutton switches range in size from ultra-miniature to miniature with logic level ratings of 0.4VA maximum at 28Vac/dc. The terminals feature 0.100 x 0.100 pin spacing in all ultra-miniature and subminiature models and 0.185-inch spacing in the miniature option.

The new pushbutton switches, including the GB2, GB, G3B, AB, BB and M2B models, are available in process compatible options with terminations that include straight PC with and without brackets, right angle and vertical mount. Circuit configurations are offered in single pole/single throw (SPST) through to double pole/double throw (DPDT). The BB series also offers a maintained action circuit option.

The ultra-thin, ultra-miniature GB2 series measures 7-by-7mm and 2.5mm thick. These switches are designed for applications with extremely limited board space and are suitable for mounting in blocks. The series comes with a UL flammability rating of 94V-0.

The ultra-miniature GB through-hole and the G3B surface-mount pushbuttons are process sealed. They are constructed of a heat resistant resin and withstand vapor phase and infrared reflow soldering. Designed for high-density mounting, the light weight (0.25g) of the switches makes them suitable for handheld equipment.

The AB subminiature series can be ordered with various plunger lengths, while the BB series features an anti-static superstructure of carbon-impregnated polyamide to prevent static discharge to the contacts. The AB and BB switches provide a sealed body construction to prevent contact contamination and to allow automated soldering and cleaning.

The largest of the family is the M2B series of process compatible miniature pushbuttons. They feature a snap-acting contact mechanism and an o-ring surrounding the actuator at the top of the bushing interior to prevent liquids from reaching the switch mechanism.

All logic level pushbuttons offer optional accessories including caps in various diameters and colors.

Pricing starts at $1.46 in quantities of 1,000. Delivery is from stock to six weeks.
