Emerging Memory Technologies Inc. has opened a design center here to support its growing business in Asia-Pacific. The center will offer the company's full set of memory design services and memory IP products including DRAM, SRAM, TCAM and ROM.

"India is set for phenomenal growth in all areas of semiconductor industry, including memory design," said Sreedhar Natarajan, president and chief executive of Emerging Memory Technologies Inc. (Ottawa, Canada).

The center will provide designs for both commodity and embedded memory in a broad range of architectures and manufacturing processes. "Our India office will allow us to enhance the integration with key customers, advancing the joint decision making required to successfully produce world-class semiconductor products," Natarajan added.

Founded last year, the company specializes in designing and licensing commodity and embedded memory technology in bulk CMOS and SOI. Its products include BIST/BISR memory controllers and the first commercially available embedded DRAM compiler.
