One Stop Displays (OSD) targets cellphones, PDAs and high information content handheld instrument applications with its new RoHS-compliant 3.5-inch portrait mode QVGA transflective thin-film-transister (TFT) display. The new OSDT035STED4 includes an integrated touch panel and a white LED backlight.
The OSDT035STED4 has an active area of 53.28(H)-by-71.04(V)mm and an overall size of 64.3(H)-by-87.1(V)-by-4.3(T)mm. The display offers 6-bit color (262 k colors). Power consumption for the complete module including LED backlight is less than 400mW. With the LED backlight turned off and the display operating in reflective mode the power consumption is reduced to less than 30mW, said the company.
OSD said by using an advanced low temperature manufacturing process the new display features lower power consumption, higher pixel density and greater pixel aperture ratios than conventional high temperature amorphous Silicon (a-Si) TFT displays. In addition, chip-on-glass (COG) construction allows the driver ICs to be mounted directly to the LCD panel thereby reducing the overall component count and mechanical footprint.
The OSDT035STED4 display is priced at $51 in quantities of 1,000.
