Agilent Technologies Inc. disclosed that Amkor Technology Inc. has added multiple Agilent 93000 Pin Scale systems to its existing installed base at locations in South Korea and Singapore.

In Korea, the Agilent Pin Scale systems are being used to test control and processing devices for digital media devices, such as MP3 players and handheld game players. In Singapore, they are used for multisite testing of controllers for wireless and mobile applications.

The Pin Scale systems selected by Amkor include the Audio/Video 8 analog card designed specifically for parallel multisite analog test of consumer applications. These Pin Scale systems can also scale up to 3.6Gbps to address high-speed interface applications such as HyperTransport, PCI Express and SATA.

Amkor also chose Agilent InstaPin performance library, a per-pin license feature that enables the Pin Scale cards to be configured to match device requirements, pin-by-pin, for lowest cost. As test needs change to accommodate a new class of device or next-generation performance, the Pin Scale cards can instantly be reconfigured through software, maximizing the lifetime of Amkor's investment.
