The HSL-4XMO-CG-N/P and HSL-4XMO-CD-N/P devices from Adlink Technology Inc. are remote motion controllers with 4-axis pulse train output. With state-of-the-art DSP, the HSL-4XMO provides outstanding performance to meet the most demanding machine automation requirements, said Adlink. Each HSL (High Speed Link) network can connect up to 15 HSL-4XMO-CG-N/P or HSL-4XMO-CD-N/P modules. According to the company, this enables users to connect up to 60 axes with only one HSL master board, reducing the required number of PCI slots and also reduces the controller size.

The remote control feature of the HSL-4XMO allows it to be closely located to servo, stepper or linear motors with RJ-45 connections bridging the remaining distance to the controller. Consequently, the HSL-4XMO-CG-N/P and HSL-4XMO-CD-N/P reduce necessary wiring and provide multiple axes control, making them suitable for the machine automation industry field, added Adlink.

To implement the HSL-4XMO-CG-N/P or HSL-4XMO-CD-N/P, users need only select a HSL master board and make the appropriate connections, explained the press release. For example, the PCI-7852 provides 2 HSL network ports, and connects up to 120 axes using only one PCI slot. Additionally, the HSL bus features high speed data transmission and hard real-time functionality. Every remote module has deterministic time response.

The HSL-4XMO-CG-N/P and HSL-4XMO-CD-N/P provide advanced functions to improve serial communications. To improve transmission efficiency, the HSL-4XMO provides a "short-term function." Users can save data to the on-board RAM and change any speed parameter at any time. These devices also provide "Point Table Management" for users to save points in the module in advance. Users can assemble these points in point-to-point, linear or circular interpolation formats.

Adlink concluded, the HSL-4XMO-CG-N/P and HSL-4XMO-CD-N/P are innovative and intelligent remote motion controllers with a proprietary high speed link protocol specifically designed for the machine automation industry field.
