GBM to boost PCB capacity at China plants

PCB maker Global Brands Manufacture Ltd (GBM), an affiliate of Taiwan-based Pou Chen Group, has raised NT$1.31 billion ($40.62 million at NT$32.25:$1) in new funds to be used for expanding PCB capacity at its plants in mainland China, according to market sources.

The sources said that GBM offered 350 million new shares at a premium of NT$37.50 ($1.16) per share in order to raise the said funds.

GBM has also jointly set up a PCB plant with CMK (Japan) Ltd in mainland China. As a whole, the Pou Chen Group will have an estimated monthly capacity of one million square meters of PCBs by the end of this year, the sources added.

GBM's PCBA revenues increased by 138 percent year-on-year, accounting for 74 percent of the company's total income in the first half of 2005. Its PCB revenues also went up by 29 percent year-on-year, accounting for 20 percent of its total earnings.
