Vitec Electronics Corp. said its new 59P987X series of inductors is an industry first for direct current resistance (DCR) sensing. The new inductors offer a guaranteed tolerance of 10 percent for DCR, which is a feature required for accurate current sensing across the inductor to set precision droop, channel-current balancing and over-current protection.

The small package size of 7-by-10.8-by-7.5mm is footprint-compatible with the company's lower profile series 59P901X but can handle significantly higher currents up to 76Adc. The series also offers a wider inductance range of 120nH to 510nH, which makes it most suitable for high-current VRD and VRD applications in servers, workstations, desktops, video cards and DDR memory.

Available in 650 pieces per 13-inch reel, the new 59P9876 inductors are priced at 28 cents each in the quantities of 100,000. Samples and small pre-production quantities are available from stock with a production lead time of four weeks.
