Choke inductors with high-current saturation

Stackpole Electronics Inc. has introduced a new series of power choke inductors with high-current saturation and operational frequencies. In addition, the new PCMC series delivers low losses in a low-profile, shielded surface-mount package.

Available in sizes ranging from 7.3-by-6.5mm to 13.8-by-12.6mm with profiles as low as 3mm, the PCMC series is suitable for dc-dc conversion in portable devices. The new high power chokes provide inductance values from 0.10?H up to 4.7?H, with direct current resistance (DCR) values as low as 0.68 m?, and DC current capability of up to 55A. Standard tolerance is 20 percent, with tighter tolerances available.

Typical applications include graphics cards, field programmable logic, voltage regulation modules, point-of-load converters, and dc/dc converters in laptops, notebooks, and tablet PCs. The PCMC series is RoHS compliant with lead-free 100 percent matte tin terminations.

Typical pricing for the PCMC series is 50 cents each in volume quantities. Delivery is from stock to six weeks.
