OTP oscillators offer fast delivery

C-MAC MicroTechnology has introduced a one-time-programmable (OTP) oscillator with quick prototype deliveries of typically two weeks at any output frequency between 150MHz and 700MHz.

Aimed at data designers, the new CFPP-620 provides a differential low-voltage positive emitter-coupled logic (LVPECL) output, making it particularly suitable for broadband transmission equipment and other data communications applications.

Although it is a low-cost, "off-the-shelf" device, the CFPP-620 provides frequency stability of ±25ppm over its operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C, with ageing effects within ±5ppm over the first year of operation. Period jitter is specified as 10ps rms (typical).

The CFPP-620 powers its dual complimentary LVPECL outputs from a 3.3V supply, drawing a maximum of 130mA, and features a tri-state mode for ease of use with automatic test equipment. It is designed for lead-free soldering and compliant with all requirements of the RoHS legislation.

Packaged in an industry standard 6-pad, 7-by-5mm ceramic surface-mount package, the CFPP-620 device is priced at approximately $15 each in quantities of 1,000. Prototypes can be factory programmed and delivered typically within two weeks for any predetermined output frequency within the available range.
