Epcos announced that it has simplified the operation of power factor controllers of its BR6000 series as all products in this series are now equipped with new V.3 software release.
According to the company, the comfortable and powerful user interface features a number of innovations, including the standard display which offers two options: alphanumeric display of the active stages in kvar and percentage of the system's apparent power, or a bar graph display of the reactive power. Additionally, users of the BR6000 series of controllers now have four additional languages to choose from: Russian, Czech, Polish and Dutch, in addition to English, German and Spanish.
Epcos added that with the automatic test cycle it is now easier to check the settings of the PFC controller. The expanded EXPERT-MODE menu lets the user select a voltage range for the current transformer of 0-255 A or 0-2550 A on the primary side, and choose single-phase or three-phase control. Furthermore, the functions for induced current measurement and interface communication via the MODBUS have been improved.
