Packaged in a 1-by-0.8-by-0.5-inch footprint, the new XO5183 family of high-performance oven controlled crystal oscillators (OCXOs) from MtronPTI features a phase noise performance of -90dBc at a 1Hz offset for a 10MHz sinewave device. A phase noise as low as -100dBc/Hz at a 1Hz offset can be achieved for special applications, said the company.

The XO5183 OCXOs offer 10ppb stability over the temperature range of 0 to 70C with a frequency range between 10MHz and 120MHz. Other options include voltage supplies between 5V and 15V, a sinewave or HCMOS output, and an extended temperature range of -40C to 85C. The devices are available in surface-mount or through-hole packages.

Developed to support a test and measurement application, the XO5182 OCXOs are suitable for very small aperture terminal (VSAT) transceiver and base station applications, said the company.

Pricing for the XO5183 OCXOs range from $17 to $40, depending on frequency and performance, in quantities of 1,000. Delivery is two to three weeks.
