F5 Networks acquires Swan Labs

F5 Networks, an application delivery networking company, has completed its acquisition of Swan Labs Corp., a provider of Wide Area Network (WAN) optimization and application acceleration solutions, in a deal valued at $43 million.

With the acquisition, Swan Lab provides F5 talented and experienced product development team and a seasoned sales force. The integration will provide a powerful enterprise-class solution that will give the only assimilated application delivery network which will ensure superior performance, security and availability for all applications.

"The opportunity to acquire such powerful solutions, that nicely round out F5's optimization portfolio, was extremely attractive," said Linda Hui, Managing Director of F5 Networks Hong Kong. She added that the acquisition will accelerate the execution of their plan to deliver application acceleration and WAN optimization for all applications and users.

F5 now has access to branch office-based and application-specific optimization technology in Swan's Lab's WebAccelerator solution. In addition, integrating their solutions will provide a framework that extends application and network security, acceleration and availability to users regardless where they are coming from.
