These POL converters work from a 9V to 36V input

NetPower Technologies' NAS2030x10 is one of the industry's few point-of-load (POL) converters that can work from a 9V to 36V input and, with an output of up to 45W, lays claim to the one that delivers the highest power.

"This wide-input-range POL is ideal for applications requiring low-cost, nonisolated DC conversion operating from higher voltages than most standard 3.3-, 5- or 12V IBA buses," said Hengchun Mao, general manager. The company developed the POL to optimize system performance in the industrial, netcom, and test equipment markets, added Mao.

The new converter, operating at 300kHz, delivers an adjustable 3V to 6V at up to 10A. Features include a line regulation of 0.2 percent (at half load), a load regulation of 0.3 percent (for a 24V input), and ripple and noise of 2 percent p-p. Efficiency is 88 percent (at 3.3V, 24V input). Transient response is 80?s for a load-step from 75 to 100 percent for a 0.1A/?s load transient and a 12V input.

Options include output over-voltage protection, tracking and sequencing circuitry, and negative/positive enable logic. A baseplate is available.

The NAS2030x10, with a DOSA compatible footprint and measuring 1.3-by-0.53-by-0.25 inches in its SMT package (or 2-by-0.27-by-0.5 inches in the SIP version) is priced at $19 each in 100 pieces.
