Cal-Chip Electronics' NL series

Cal-Chip Electronics Inc. released its NL series of molded chip wirewound inductors that are suitable for high-density boards in a variety of appliance, instrumentation and onboard automotive equipment. These devices may be used in audio/video equipment, handheld consumer products such as mobile phones and PDAs, as well as hybrid ICs and other modular components.

The surface-mount NL series devices are available in standard EIA case sizes: 1008 (NL2520), 1210 (NL3225) and 1812 (NL4532). These devices offer an inductance range of .01?H to 1,000?H, with inductance tolerances of 5 percent, 10 percent and 20 percent. The operating temperature range is from -20C to 100C.

The new inductors feature metal tab electrodes to ensure leaching resistant terminations, and coils encapsulated in heat-proof resin for resistance to thermal shock, moisture, mechanical shock and vibration. Packages are compatible with high-speed pick-and-place assembly equipment and are suitable for high-temperature flow or reflow soldering processes. These devices are available in Pb-free/RoHS-compliant part numbers.

Prices range from $0.045 to $0.08 each in tape-and-reel packaging for standard production quantities. Delivery is from stock.
