BR Series resistor

Stackpole Electronics Inc. has extended the resistance range of its BR series of current sensing resistors down to 0.002?, in tolerances to 5 percent.

The BR series of flameproof, open air current sense resistors now offer resistance values from 0.002? to 0.1?. They are capable of withstanding 70A of current and are rated from 1W to 5W at 85C. Many BR series resistance values are available in 1 percent tolerances with temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) values as low as &plusm;20ppm/C. The operating temperature range is -40C to 125C.

The BR resistors feature a resistive element with a unique off-the-board design that keeps the resistor's "hot spot" safely off the PC-board and allow air to circulate around it, contributing to cooler operation. Applications include large portable electronics, power supplies, servers, satellite communications, window lift and sunroof motors, wiper controls, power steering systems and anti-lock braking systems. They are typically used in current sense, feedback and surge protection circuitry.

Typical pricing for the BR series resistors is approximately 15 cents in quantities of 5,000. Delivery is six to eight weeks. Samples of standard products are available from stock to three weeks.
