power amplifier

Hittite Microwave Corp. announced an MMIC driver amplifier die and a surface mount packaged MMIC power amplifier targeted at microwave radio, military and test & measurement applications from 5GHz to 20GHz.

The HMC486 GaAs PHEMT MMIC 2W power amplifier operates from 7GHz to 9GHz, and features 26dB gain, 34dBm saturated output power and 40dBm Output IP3. This amplifier die delivers 24 percent PAE from a 7V supply, and the RF I/Os are DC blocked and matched to 50? for ease of integration into Multi-Chip-Modules (MCMs). The HMC486 is available in a 5-by-5mm SMT RoHS compliant package (HMC486LP5E).

The HMC451LC3 GaAs PHEMT MMIC medium power amplifier is rated from 5GHz to 20GHz, and delivers 19dB of gain, 21dBm of saturated power and 30dBm Output IP3. This versatile amplifier provides 21 percent PAE from a single positive supply of 5V, and the RF I/Os are DC blocked and matched to 50?. The HMC451LC3 is housed in a Pb-free RoHS compliant 3-by-3mm SMT package, and is also available in die form (HMC451).

Samples of HMC486 and HMC451LC3 devices, and evaluation PC boards for the HMC451LC3 are available from stock and can be ordered online.
