Mintech Semiconductors Ltds Interconnect & Test Division has introduced a 4Mb EEPROM with access times of 120-, 150- and 200ns.

The M128E32 is organized as 128K x 32 bits, but can be configured as 256K x 16, or 512K x 8. It is offered in two types of packagesa 66 pin grid array (PGA) and 68-lead gullwing, ceramic quad flat pack (CQFP). Each package conforms to the mechanical and pinout definitions of the Standard Militarized Drawing.

In the 68-lead ceramic gullwing package, the device measures 25.15-by-25.25-by-5.44mm. It is designed to relieve stress generated by differences in trichloroethylene (TCE) between the ceramic package and system board.

The M128E32 has operating powers of 1,600-, 830- and 445mW and low standby power of 2.2mW. It offers 10,000 write cycles, which can be extended to 100,000.

The device can be supplied as commercial and industrial grade. However, it is best suited for harsh environments such as civil and military avionics in which the devices are screened in accordance with BS9400 or MILSTD883.

The M128E32 costs approximately $440 each in quantities of 100.
