RF switch delivers 10W power rating

Anadigics Inc. unveiled the latest addition to its family of RF switches that features a 10W power rating, making it a suitable solution for automotive telematics, as well as GSM, CDMA and WLAN mobile platforms.

Configured as a Single Pole Double Throw (SPDT) switch, the AWS5532 provides excellent electrical performance to maintain signal integrity at frequencies up to 2.5GHz. Typical performance characteristics at 2GHz are: an insertion loss of 0.4dB to minimize power loss, a return loss of 20dB to prevent distortion, and an isolation of 28dB to minimize port-to-port crosstalk. The AWS5532 also offers a best-in-class P0.1 dB typical compression of 40.5dBm, and uses the company's pHEMT process to provide exceptional ruggedness, said the press release.

Housed in a compact 3-by-3-by-1mm, 12-pin S26 MLF package, the AWS5532 is priced at $2 in quantities of 10,000 units. Samples are already available.
