Anritsu Ltd introduced its MT8860B wireless LAN (WLAN) test set, designed for radio layer measurements on all 802.11b/g devices. According to the press release, it is the world's first integrated test set that simulates a WLAN Access Point for testing devices under normal operating conditions. Anritsu added that this eliminates the need for special test mode software otherwise required for device testing.

When integrated into a production test system, the MT8860B measures all the key radio parameters, including transmitter power, spectral mask and EVM as well as receiver sensitivity. Test times are significantly shorter than with other instruments as a single test connection is all that is required to perform all measurements, said Anritsu. MT8860B is the first WLAN test set that offers a packet loopback feature that simplifies DUT transmitter measurements, added the company.

The MT8860B is designed for chipset and module design proving, as well as high volume production testing of completed consumer products, including smart phones, PDAs, PCs and their peripherals. It tests all manufacturers chipsets "out-of-the-box."
