Op amp merges unity-gain stability, wide SFDR, low noise
Keywords:Analog Devices? ADA4899-1? op amp? operational amplifier?
The new ADA4899-1 operational amplifier from Analog Devices Inc. (ADI) simultaneously minimizes two key sources of error in precision measurement applicationsnoise and distortion. According to the company, this new product is the first unity-gain-stable device to reach voltage noise of just 1nV/rt-Hz, along with a wide spurious free dynamic range (SFDR) of 117dBc at 1MHz. The op amp is designed for use in radar, ultrasound and high-precision instrumentation.
High-end AC performance is matched by DC specifications such as 0.23mV maximum offset voltage, and 15A maximum input bias current. The ADA4899-1 is available in a 3-by-3mm package as well as an 8-lead SOIC; the former has reduced lead inductance and better thermal characteristics, in addition to smaller size. Pricing for the op amp is $1.89 each, in 1,000-piece orders.
