Tyco Electronics Power Systems Inc. announced a new input filter module that promises a space-efficient and cost-effective solution to meet electromagnetic interference (EMI) limits mandated by various international agencies.

The FLT007A0 filter module is suitable for either a 24V or 48V input voltage distributed power architectures and intermediate bus voltage applications used in telecommunications equipment, wireless base stations, enterprise networks, optical networks and industrial equipment. "This filter module comes in a small-size, cost-efficient open frame design while delivering high power," commented Sabi Varma, VP of marketing and development engineering at Tyco Electronics Power Systems.

The FLT007A0 is designed to operate over an input voltage range up to 75Vdc at output currents up to 7A in an ambient temperature of -400C to 850C. This filter module is optimized for use with DC/DC converter modules to reduce the conducted differential and common-mode noise returned to the power source. ROHS compliant, it enables designers to meet the requirements of EMI standards CISPR 22 (EN55022) and FCC Class B.

The FLT007A0 is designed and manufactured to be either surface mounted (-SR version) or through hole mounted on PCBs.
