MagnaChip Semiconductor announced its new PMOLED QCIF+ two-chip solutionthe HM16EPS7201 and the HM16EPC7101. Supporting QCIF+ resolution, these chips are designed for the main display on mobile devices and target the MP3 display market.
"Passive-matrix OLEDs are particularly well suited for small-area display applications that are found in today's mobile devices," said Davis Mok, VP of marketing in MagnaChip's display solutions division. "QCIF+ display modules are capable of displaying full-motion video and high-resolution images on standard mobile device displays. And as video clips and TV shows become a feature offered in standard cellphones and MP3 players, QCIF+ resolution will increasingly become a necessity."
Offering one of the highest resolutions available in PMOLED technology, the HM16EPS7201 supports 220RGB (column line), and the HM16EPC7101 supports 176 (row line).
