ATI graphics processor drives ASUS A7G notebook

ATI Technologies Inc. announced that its Mobility Radeon X1600 graphics processor has been chosen to drive the new ASUS A7G multimedia performance notebook. According to the press release, A7G is the industry's first notebook to use mobile graphics based on 90nm design process, which promises to provide better performance using less power.

The ASUS A7G notebook is an all-in-one digital multimedia solution, featuring 17.1-inch widescreen display, built-in TV tuner and high-definition audio with four onboard speakers, Webcam, and microphone. Backed by ATI's Mobility Radeon X1600 and Avivo, said the two companies, the A7G delivers stunning, true-to-life visuals, incredibly smooth video playback and exceptional graphics performance.

"By selecting ATI and Mobility Radeon X1600the first mobile graphics based on 90nm process technology, we are truly able to drive the performance-thin mobile market to the next level," said Tony Chen, GM of notebook department.

"With the launch of A7G, ASUS is introducing a notebook that provides unprecedented performance and stunning image quality in a portable, low-power package," added David Cummings, director of ATI's mobile business unit.

"We are pleased ASUS has selected ATI to help it deliver the world's first notebook that uses Mobility Radeon X1600 graphics," Cummings said.
