Litton Interconnect acquired by EMS company

Simclar Inc., a multi-plant electronics manufacturing services provider, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire certain assets of the Northrop Grumman-owned Litton Interconnect Technologies assembly business in the United States.

The acquisition will be made by Simclar Interconnect Technologies Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Simclar Inc., which will pay $16 million for Litton Interconnect. The Litton Interconnect Technologies assembly business supplies high-performance backplane interconnect solutions for network, wireline and wireless infrastructure, defense and electronic data processing applications.

As part of the same transaction, Simclar Inc.'s parent company, Simclar Group Ltd has also agreed to acquire certain assets of the Litton Interconnect Technologies assembly businesses in the United Kingdom and China through its subsidiary Simclar Interconnect Technologies Ltd, for $28 million. The transaction, pending approval by Chinese authorities, is expected to close in 60 days.
