Honeywell licenses GPS technology to LG Electronics

Honeywell has licensed LG Electronics Inc. (LGE) to use two patents relating to GPS and to grant sublicenses for certain automotive OEM and aftermarket applications. The licensed patents include U.S. Patent Nos. 5,923,286 and 5,969,672, which have foreign counterparts in Japan, Europe and Canada. The patented technology relates to navigation systems that use inertial components to help improve GPS accuracy.

"This agreement with LGE is the first step towards expanding our navigation business through strategic licensing arrangements," commented Loria Yeadon, CEO of Honeywell Intellectual Properties Inc. "We are pleased that LGE has joined our licensing program."
