Designed for portable electronics products with a basic digital camera, Freescale Semiconductor's MPC17C724 is a dual-channel, motor driver IC that delivers 400mA per channel for controlling the camera lens and shutter.

The H-bridge IC, working from a 2.7V to 5.5V input, has four control modes: Forward, reverse, brake, and tri-state (high impedance). Having a direct control interface to the system microcomputer, the chip delivers up to 400mA continuous per channel (800mA peak). This chip features an under-voltage detector and shoot-through current protection.

The MPC17C724, in a 16-lead, 3-by-3-by-0.9mm QFN package, has a suggested resale price of 55 cents each at 1,000-unit orders and above.
