Malaysia's exports probably grew in November at the fastest pace in more than a year as manufacturers such as Unisem Bhd. shipped more electronics to meet overseas year-end demand, according to a report from Bloomberg.

"Higher export growth and industrial output will be underpinned by year-end demand, especially for semiconductor-related products," said Lee Heng Guie, an economist at CIMB Securities Sdn., in the report. "With global technology demand gathering strength as well as the continued resilience in U.S. consumer demand, this augurs well for export growth in Asia."

The Bloomberg report further said that Malaysia joins other Asian countries, including Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan, in reporting rising overseas sales in the final months of 2005, after demand for electronics picked up in the United States, Europe and China.

Malaysia's overseas sales of electrical and electronics goods, including semiconductors, increased 11 percent in October compared to the same month the previous year, higher than the 6.6 percent gain in September and 10 percent in August, said the report.
