 Super Scope system

A system called the Super Scope, from O.C. White Co. delivers high-resolution realtime color images without a microscope. This system, based on the latest display technology, supersedes the company's earlier Super Scope 2000 product.

Alleviating eye fatigue and back pain typically associated with optical microscope use, the Super Scope also lets you capture images for archiving and e-mailing. Because it's not a microscope, images on the Super Scope can be viewed in realtime by more than one person.

Medical-grade LCD
The Super Scope comprises a 14-in. medical-grade self-contained LCD video system that's combined with a high-resolution high-sensitivity 1/2-inch camera. The combined elements provide clear, crisp images. The Super Scope offers a standard magnification range of 4x to 40x (and up to 80x with an optional 2x lens).

The Super Scope also includes an audio input, extra video inputs, and output ports. A frame grabber and microphone are optional separate accessories.

A basic Super Scope costs about $4995, with a light source. The optional 2x lens assembly adds about $250 to that price.
