Aphel's rPower Remote Power Management unit, a combination high-visibility ammeter and RS-232 bus based system for datacenter and IT applications, is designed to greatly simplify and reduce the cost of remote power monitoring in a standard setting. It features eight-channel, auto-scrolling capability to provide monitoring for 20A to 60A (125V/208V) rackmount enclosure power solutions.

"Since its development, we have seen huge interest in this technology set, particularly from our customers who manage mission critical facilities," said Kevin Macomber, VP of business development, noting that the system has been embedded in more than 200 existing products.

Apart from traditional ammeters, which require the user to be in close proximity, rPower includes a high-resolution color display that can be viewed from as far as 12 feet. Aside from the ammeter, the device connects to traditional console port switches and can be managed simultaneously with other RS-232 based devices.

Product datasheets will shortly be available. Pricing for the rPower product starts from $350, depending on system design requirements.
