Chipcon's CC2430ZDK platform now ZigBee certified

Chipcon AS, a provider of low power, low data rate RF ICs, announced that ZigBee compliance has been granted to its CC2430ZDK Pro ZigBee development platform, which consists of two different hardware platforms, both utilizing the CC2430 SoC.

The compliance means that OEMs developing with Chipcon ZigBee development kits are assured that their products are interoperable with other ZigBee compliant platforms. This means they will be able to form a single, cohesive ZigBee network capable of passing data for all applications on the network.

"Chipcon has reached another milestone with the CC2430 ZigBee development kit compliancy," said Chipcon President and CEO Geir Forre. "Being the only ZigBee solution provider in the world with three ZigBee compliant platforms, firmly entrenches Chipcon's position as the world's leading ZigBee solution provider.

According to the company, more than 200 CC2430 development kits have been shipped since the product was launched in September last year.
