Mentor Graphics Corp. announced that it has collaborated with AMD to provide processor-centric reference designs for use with the Expedition Series and Board Station RE design flows for AMD's current and future generation processors. These reference designs, available through AMD, are designed to accelerate the creation of computer motherboards using AMD64 technology. They enable Expedition and Board Station RE customers to re-use design data, significantly reducing design risk and time to market goals, while increasing design quality, said the press release.

"This collaborative effort is another example of AMD and Mentor working together to help bring leading-edge products to the market quickly and with outstanding results," said Joe Menard, corporate vice president, software strategy and alliances at AMD. "Board Station RE and Expedition are important tools that can help our design customers meet the growing market demand for AMD64 single- and dual-core processor-based systems today and in the future."

The Expedition Series offers advanced functionality with ease-of-use for the creation of today's complex PCB designs. The Expedition Series features the industry's best place and route environment, and designed for high-speed, complex and advanced technology boards.
