The new LT6660 combines 0.2 percent initial accuracy and 20ppm drift with micro-power operation, and require less than half the space of the SOT-23 package. Furthermore, said Linear Tech, this device does not require an output compensation capacitor, which is a key advantage where PC board space is at a premium or fast settling is required.
The LT6660 accepts input voltages up to 30V and can withstand reverse-battery conditions. The output voltages include 2.5-, 3-, 3.3-, 5- and 10V. With a dropout of 900mV, this device is also suitable for precision regulator applications since it can supply up to 20mA of current. Since it needs no output compensation capacitor, the LT6660 is also suited to applications with intrinsic safety requirements.
The LT6660 offers a way to significantly reduce the size of new designs without compromising performance. "The LT6660 combines an excellent set of features and precision specifications in only 4mm2," said Brendan Whelan, design section lead for Linear Tech.
The LT6660 is in full production, with prices starting at 88 cents each in 1,000-piece quantities.
