Dual-barrier strips for PC-board mounted apps

Tyco Electronics has introduced a line of high-rise, dual-barrier strips for PC-board mounted applications. The unique high-rise design allows for space-saving dual-level wire entry on congested PC-boards, said the company.

Molded to length with a 0.325-inch centerline, the BUCHANAN brand barrier strips provide captive screws in a wire-ready position. The strips are available in 2 to 16 positions and can be equipped with various accessories such as quick-connect tabs and jumpers.

The dual-barrier strips meet the UL and CSA standards of 20A, 300Vac/dc while accommodating solid or stranded wire ranging from 12 AWG to 22 AWG. Composed of a UL 94V-0 thermoplastic, its insulator body, along with the brass, tin-plated terminal, delivers an operating temperature range of -40F to 221F. The barrier strips have combination drive screws with #2 Phillips recess and a standard slot. These features make the dual-barrier strips suitable for use in a wide range of applications including industrial controls, test equipment, HVAC and power supplies.

The high-rise, dual-barrier strips are priced at $1.87 for a 10-position strip in quantities of 1,000.
