According to the press release, Philips' image processing technology and its TriMedia central processing unit provide a powerful, advanced, flexible and fully programmable solution. The PNX4103 is designed around the needs of customers and end-users as it enables high quality TV resolution video, digital camcorder capabilities and digital still camera quality on mobile phones, said the company.

The PNX4103 will allow mobile device makers to offer high-end multimedia features such as up to 10-Megapixel imaging, Standard Definition (D1) H.264, TV-on-mobile and more, Philips added. With its embedded camera signal processing, RAM-less and RAM-based display interfaces, integrated analog TV output, high speed serial interfaces, and a stacked memory, the PNX4103 offers one of the most integrated and smallest footprint solution for enabling advanced multimedia features.

Rutton Ruttonsha, VP and GM of personal entertainment solutions at Philips Semiconductors, said, "Our new solution is the most advanced multimedia processor.
