Keywords:MAX5128? digital potentiometer? Maxim?

Maxim Integrated Products introduced the MAX5128, a 128-tap, nonvolatile digital potentiometer. According to the company, the product's 2-by-2mm microDFN package, 1a (max) standby supply current, 2-wire up/down interface and 2.7V to 5.5V single supply make it suitable for portable battery-powered electronics. Maxim explained that the up/down serial interface controls the wiper position and programs the nonvolatile memory that stores the wiper position, enabling the MAX5128 to power up to a predefined state.

The MAX5128 offers ratiometric and end-to-end temperature coefficients as low as 5ppm/C and 75ppm/C, respectively. The product is available with an end-to-end resistance of 20 kilohms, and is rated for operation between the -40C to 85C temperature range.

Pricing for the MAX5128 starts at 68 cents in quantities of 1,000 and up.
