Hittite rolls out new GaAs pHEMT MMIC LNA

Hittite Microwave Corp. has introduced a new GaAs pHEMT MMIC low noise amplifier (LNA) which is designed for 75? CATV, STB, home gateway and digital TV applications.

The HMC549MS8GE is a 40MHz to 960MHz dual output, low noise GaAs pHEMT MMIC mplifier which that a low 3.5dB noise figure, and a high 27dBm output IP3. According to the company, the outputs of the new MMIC LNA are very well balanced and can be used to drive a differential input tuner with very high IP2 requirements, or the LNA can be used as an active splitter driving two single-ended input devices.

The HMC549MS8GE is housed in a RoHS-compliant MSOP8G SMT package, and operates from a single 5V supply.
