Mitsumi unveils new high-starting torque stepping motor

Mitsumi announced that it has developed a high-starting torque stepping motor (25 percent up from the previous model depending on the frequency speed) to address the high-torque and high-speed needs in the printer market.

With a rated voltage of 24Vdc, the M55SP-2HPK PM-type stepping motor features a 1.2A/phase rated current/phase, 4.6 ohms wound resistance and 7.5 step angle. This device has a 145mNm pull-out torque at 800pps, and 150mNm pull-in torque at 200pps. Maximum answer frequency is 1,400pps, and maximum starting frequency is 500pps.

Mitsumi added that its new product has a shorter start-up time (25 percent less from the previous model depending on the operating conditions), wider maximum self-startup frequency (40 percent up from the previous model depending on the operating conditions), and high output (approximately 16W at 24V and 1.2A/P), and high efficiency (approximately 50 percent at 24V and 1.2A/P).
