Cree Inc., a manufacturer of LED solid-state lighting components, announced the general availability of what they tout as the industry's highest efficacy white power LEDs at 350mA.
The new white XLamp 7090 power LED package achieves a typical efficacy of 47 lumens per watt at a drive current of 350mA and 57 lumens of typical light output.
Cree also announced the availability of the XLamp 7090 in warm white (2,700K to 4,500deg;K) aimed at residential lighting applications.
"This advancement is another step toward making LED lighting a reality in the general illumination market," said Mark McClear, director of marketing for lighting LEDs at Cree. "We have once again raised the bar for 350mA operation, which is the benchmark for most solid-state lighting applications."
The XLamp 7090 power LED also features reduced thermal resistance to 8C/W, electrically neutral thermal paths and reflow solderability.
