Fairchild Semiconductor announced that the company will highlight its power design product portfolio and Global Power Resource design centers at the International IC-China Conference & Exhibition (IIC-China), beginning in Shanghai next week (March 6, 2006).

With spiraling demands to increase and improve performance, reduce standby power and EMI, decrease board size, complexity and weight, and improve power factor correction performance, designers face a daunting, and sometimes conflicting, set of design requirements, said Fairchild. To address these demands, the company's Global Power Resource design centers provide system power expertise with its staff of power experts, who work closely with customers to "optimize and develop innovative designs." With eight centers worldwide, and three located in China, Fairchild's application-specific design centers provide customers with power management solutions for consumer, ultra-portable, automotive, computing and communications applications.

"With the insatiable demand for electronics and the need to conform to power-efficiency regulations, the ability to conserve powerwhether in the chipset or implementation of topologiesis critical," said Helen Wong, director of marketing for Asia Pacific. "IIC-China is an ideal forum for Fairchild to demonstrate its products, technologies and strong technical and design resources, which all serve to optimize customers' designs."

The 11th Annual International IC-China Conference & Exhibition will be held in Shanghai from March 6-7, Shenzhen from March 10-11 and Beijing from March 13-14.
