Intersil Corp. announced the ISL59532 32 x 32 video crosspoint switch. This device integrates four separate 16 x 16 crosspoint switches to create a 32 x 32 matrix (or two 32 x 16 switches). The ISL59532 has an integrated DC-restore clamp on every input. Each output has an onscreen display (OSD) switch, which is said to reduce the need for extra silicon around the device. This device suits security video, video switchers and routers, broadcast video and other video applications.
The ISL59532 will include 32 x16 and 16 x 16 switches, all with single-ended input and differential input versions, and using the same footprint. The product has several features, such as: 320MHz bandwidth; 0.025 percent differential gain and 0.05 degrees differential phase; 0.1dB flatness out to 50MHz and crosstalk of -85dB. In addition, the product's SPI interface can be used to place any output into a high impedance tri-state, so that several 32 x 32 crosspoint switches can be linked together.
The product is available now in a 356-pin BGA package and is priced at $105 in 1,000-unit quantities.
