Organizers of the 11th Annual International IC-China Conference & Exhibition (IIC-China) disclosed that the number of local IC design houses that participated in this year's IIC-China has doubled compared to last year's.

Mark Saunderson, Electronics Business Unit President, commented that China has become the world's largest semiconductor consumer market. "China's electronics production will reach $200 billion this year. Consumption of chip technology by its communications and consumer electronics segments alone will equal $64 billion," Saunderson said.

In this year's IIC-China, twelve of the world's 15 largest semiconductor suppliers are participating, including Intel, Samsung, Texas Instruments, Toshiba, STMicroelectronics, Infineon, Renesas, Philips, freescale, Spansion, NEC and Micron. Other key exhibitors include Altera, Analog Devices, avnet, International Rectifier and Intersil.

"IIC-China provides technology companies a gateway to this opportunity while presenting China's engineers with the latest IC applications, embedded technologies and design tools. We expect more than 24,000 China-based engineers and technical managers to visit the show floor this year," Saunderson said.
