SV Probe acquires wafer test assets from K&S

SV Probe PTE Ltd, a supplier of high-performance probe cards and test interfaces, announced recently that it has executed the acquisition of the wafer test assets from Kulicke and Soffa Industries Inc. (K&S), one of the world's leading supplier of semiconductor wire bonding assembly equipment.

According to the press release, this acquisition is expected to move SV Probe into the global top three probe card manufacturers, expanding SV's product line and customer base.

On Jan. 24, 2006, SV Probe announced a definitive agreement to purchase the wafer test assets of K&S. The acquisition includes certain working capital, production assets, as well as intellectual property. The transaction was completed on March 3, 2006, and as a result SV Probe will now be able to provide continuous service and supply to K&S' existing customers for blade, cantilever, vertical, and advanced-vertical probe card products and wafer interface products.

SV Probe is 50% owned by Singapore-based Ellipsiz Ltd.
