Agilent 93000 selected by Infineon to test comm devices

Agilent Technologies Inc. announced that it supplies its 93000 Pin Scale system to Infineon Technologies to conduct high-speed digital and mixed-signal application tests.

According to the press release, Agilent's 93000 was selected by Infineon because its flexible, per-pin architecture can test the former's highly integrated communication devices, at low cost, on a single scalable platform. In addition, the Agilent Audio/Video 8 analog card configured in the system enables multi-site testing of state-of-the-art mixed-signal devices.

"We selected the Agilent 93000 pin scale because of its compatibility with our progressive design-for-test roadmap," said Peter Muhmenthaler, principal, test innovation and methodology, Infineon. "We value Agilent's commitment to this platform, which supports us with an innovative, non-disruptive architecture in terms of future test technologies."

Pascal Ronde, vice president of Agilent's semiconductor test solutions, said, "Agilent is pleased to provide a cost-effective, flexible solution with the ability to test multiple technologies on a single platform. This will allow Infineon to deliver competitively priced, mixed-signal products to market faster. In addition, as Infineon's applications increase in complexity, the Agilent 93000 can be scaled to meet the company's emerging test needs."

The system selected by Infineon includes the Pin Scale 800 card, with digital speeds up to 800Mbps and memory up to 256MByte on each pin, delivering the performance demanded by next-generation devices. Per-pin speed scalability from 200Mbps to 800Mbps provides the performance needed to test a wide range of interfaces, including USB 2.0 and IEEE 1394.
