CIT Relay & Switch has introduced the STJ series of sealed tactile switches in a small 7.2-by-7.2mm package.
The STJ series is available in three versions: the RoHS-compliant through-hole STJ, right-angle STJV, and surface-mount STJS switches. All devices feature a spherical actuator design that allows for multi-directional, off-center actuation of 30. Terminal materials are either silver or gold over nickel-plated brass.
Available in silver or gold-plated contacts over nickel-plated stainless steel, all STJ aswitches offer a maximum power of 1W with silver and 0.4W with gold. The maximum voltage for both silver and gold is 50Vdc and 20mV minimum. Current is rated for 50mA maximum and 1mA minimum. Travel is 0.4mm.
The STJ series offers actuation force choices of 130gf, 200gf, 300gf and 500gf. STJV offers 200gf or 300gf actuation force. Both the STJ and the STJV have a stainless steel actuator and actuator cover with a 6/6 nylon switch housing. The bracket on the STJV is tin-plated steel. These switches may be used in security, headphones, automotive, consumer appliance and medical applications.
Average volume pricing for the STJ series is 35 cents depending on plating and termination.
