Power tap connectors from Erni handle higher current

Designed to bring power to PCBs in backplane applications, Erni's new power tap connectors are now available with press-fit terminations.

Available in 6-pin and 10-pin versions, power can be supplied via screw-mount connectors, or via slip-on pluggable connectors with cable lugs or flat terminal sockets. By using a new material, the maximum current-carrying capacity for the 6-pin version increased from 30A to 40A (at 20°C) to match the rating for the 10-pin version. The maximum permissible operating current depends on the characteristics of the specific PCB and the cable termination, said the company.

All variants are available with different connection threads including M3, M4, 6-32 UNC and 8-32 UNC. All power tap connectors are RoHS compliant. Solder pin versions are available.

Pricing starts at 88 cents in quantities of 1,000.
