Keywords:MBI6010? constant current sink driver? Macroblock?

Macroblock announced its new MBI6010, a three-channel constant current sink driver designed to provide color combinations to RGB LED clusters. Targeting the LED sign industry, the product can be networked to a master controller for scheduled or manual dimming and color control. The MBI6010 is said to enhance data transmission and reliability to help cascade and control LED clusters. It suits color-variable sign applications, such as architectural lighting, signs, company logos and decoration lighting.

The device aims to enhance the transmission buffers for the serial peripheral interface in a cascading system through the self-synchronized signal timing technology. Macroblock said that more than 250 LED clusters can be cascaded by the product, with the clock frequency at 5MHz in 2m transmission lines between clusters. With a built-in voltage regulator, the MBI6010 accepts voltage ranging from 6V to 12V. The MBI6010 is said to require only several external components, such as capacitors and resistors to save space in a compact LED cluster application.
