Relay maker eyes automotive market

Dongguan Sanyou Electrical Appliances Co. Ltd, a supplier of electromechanical relays for home appliances, disclosed that it will be adding automotive components to its product line to enter the booming automotive electronics market. The company's relays are presently used in air conditioners and microwave ovens.

Sales Manager Zhang Min said that the company relies on third-party certifications such as TUV to ensure strict quality control. On top of that, said Zhang, Sanyou has its own test lab that allows customers to perform on-site tests of their products.

The Dongguan-based manufacturer sources most of its raw materials from China, with some imported from Japan. The company shared that around 60 percent of its shipments go to mainland China, while the rest are exported.
