During the last day of the China Sourcing Fair: Electronics & Components, a seminar entitled "LicensingThe Buyer's Perspective" was held. The seminar discussed tools that can help the supply chain to buy licensed products. It presented in detail the License Status Confirmation Document (LSCD) and Veeza (launched last January 2006) for those in the CD-R disc business.

James Liu, senior legal counsel for Philips Electronics Hong Kong Ltd, presided over the seminar. Philips Intellectual Property and Standards (Philips IP&S) is serving more than 140 licensees in China's DVD player industry, and numerous other licensees in other optical storage formats. One of the most effective patent licensing organizations in the world, it claims to have invested significant resources in building a world-wide network of offices and professional staffs to promptly serve the daily needs of manufacturers in China and their customers all over the world.
