Receiver tailored for business TV, private satellite networks

Wegener Corp., a provider of products for TV, audio and data distribution networks, announced the Unity 550 enterprise media receiver.

According to Wegener, the Unity 550 is their next-generation enterprise media receiver for multi-site business TV and private satellite networks. The receiver supports multiple versions, including support for linear broadcasts of MPEG-2 and MPEG-4/H.264 video programming for both PAL and NTSC video standards. It can be used to launch HDTV services with MPEG-4/H.264 video compression and DVB-S2 modulation. Wegener adds that it has integrated Compel network control to remotely monitor and reconfigure Unity 550 receivers. Additionally, operators can support multi-language broadcasts with two configurable stereo audio outputs.
